CALM Tasmanian Mountain Pepper Berry Serum calms and protects the skin when skin cortisol levels are elevated due to extended periods in air-conditioning, emotional stress, or long days and long nights.

WHAT IT DOES

Inflammation starts deep in the skin layer and may not come to the surface until days later. New research is pointing to low-grade inflammation as a major cause of aging and pigmentation. Unlike acute inflammation, which can be painful and discomforting, the chronic inflammation involved in aging is painless and undetectable. 

Founder's Formula CALM uses Certified Organic Tasmanian Mountain Pepper Berry (Tasmannia lanceolata) to instantly reduce the experience of skin irritability and reduce the potential for the appearance of skin redness.

The longer-term benefit of this is that by calming the skin, CALM helps prevent future spots and pigmentation before they begin.

Tasmanian Mountain Pepper Berry has multiple benefits:

• contains a powerful active ingredient called polygodial which decreases pro-inflammatory cytokines.
  
• contains anthocyanins, (this is what gives the fruit its reddish colour), which are free radical scavengers that protect cells from oxidative damage.
• has antioxidant power three times greater than blueberries.

This concentrated serum prevents the scratchy, dry way skin can feel after spending a stressful long day in a very dry office or hospital. It is also a great serum to calm potentially irritated skin and to reduce the appearance of skin redness.

Longer term, Tasmanian Mountain Pepper Berry also stimulates collagen production, assists repair of barrier function, and increases hydration.

The Tasmanian Pepper Berry is also rich in essential minerals magnesium and zinc. Magnesium is known to stimulate cell regeneration, increase energy production and acts as an anti‐stress agent. Zinc helps to repair cell damage, decrease rash and alleviate inflammation associated with acne.  

CALM formula is also fortified with naturally-derived Gluconolactone - a mild PHA (polyhydroxy-acid) that reduces moisture loss while softening dead cells to mildly exfoliate and improve transport of actives to where they are needed. Gluconolactone also fights glycation, the natural chemical process that weakens skin’s collagen and elastin, and is rich in antioxidants that stimulate epidermal growth and repair, meaning that with continued use skin will appear more plump and less wrinkled.

HOW TO USE IT

Apply 1-2 drops to a cleansed, damp face, before work or travel or any anticipated major skin stress event. Use at night after a stressful day. Use to calm skin at any time it feels irritated.

If you are applying the serum without first cleansing, then spritz the skin with a toner or mister first before applying.

Apply before moisturiser and/or oils.

For best results apply in the following order:  serums, then moisturiser, then oils. If you are using more than one serum in your routine, it is fine to mix the serums before applying.

#Recent research points to Low Weight Hyaluronic Acid being irritating for those with rosacea. CALM contains High Molecular Weight only. Most other Founder's Formula serums contain mixed weights of Hyaluronic Acid.
